Odette Lanthier was born in Rosemount Quebec in 1951 and quickly developed a passion for drawing and visual arts as a child Her mother and father who owned a commercial decorating business greatly influenced her creative spirit and imaginationIn 1976 she settled in St Bruno de Montarville and began to take painting and drawing classes in order to master and evolve her own technique Odette founded the Association des Artistes Peintres de la RiveSud South Shore Painters Association in 1980 and through this organization she participates in numerous exhibitions throughout Quebec and has the opportunity to meet many influential artistsAlways fascinated by the effects of light and shadow Odette explores colour contrasts in order to emphasize the luminosity within her paintings Her nave style for which she has come to be known has developed through experimenting with different canvas formatsOdette Lanthier is represented in Ottawa Ontario by Koyman Galleries
